Job Description

A growing law firm in Boca Raton, Florida is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to support the firm's financial operations. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with monthly and year-end close processes, managing reconciliations, and supporting billing, trust accounting, and financial reporting functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced professional services environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and supporting schedules.
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
Perform bank, credit card, trust account, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Monitor and reconcile attorney trust accounts in compliance with Florida Bar regulations.
Review accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions for accuracy and completeness.
Assist with client billing, collections, and revenue tracking.
Prepare financial reports, variance analyses, and management reporting packages.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management activities.
Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
Assist with year-end audits, tax filings, and external accountant requests.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Support special projects and other accounting-related responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum of 2-5 years of accounting experience.
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and advanced formulas.
Experience with accounting software and financial reporting systems.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
